Evening Standard art critic Brian Sewell is one of the great characters of the British art world. He graduated from the Courtauld Institute in 1957 and worked at auction house Christies, specialising in Old Masters. He is known for his scathing views on certain modern art such as the annual Turner Prize entries, and has been great value-for-money twice on TV news quiz Have I Got News for You.
